Why KINGS Exists

KINGS PROJECT was founded from lived experience. Donald Reaves entered foster care at approximately nine years old and moved through multiple homes before finding stability, structure, and guidance with the Johnson family.

That experience shaped the mission behind KINGS: young people need more than resources. They need consistency, mentorship, accountability, opportunity, and adults who believe in their future.

You may not be able to control the circumstances that placed you here, but you can control what you do with the rest of your life.

KINGS exists to help young people build the confidence, practical skills, relationships, and support needed to create a different future.

Partner With KINGS

KINGS PROJECT welcomes partnerships with foster care agencies, group homes, juvenile justice programs, schools, employers, workforce organizations, financial institutions, colleges, trade schools, churches, foundations, and community organizations.

Partners can support KINGS through mentoring, volunteer service, sponsorships, grants, career exposure, professional clothing, technology, food assistance, transportation support, and other in kind resources.
